Level 3 French
Outline of Course:
The Year 13 French course follows Level 8 of French in the New Zealand Curriculum, building great mastery in the language skills. Students are encouraged to read and respond to a variety of material, including French media, films, newspaper articles and literature.
Assessment can be individually tailored to reflect the strengths of the student.
Students may have the opportunity to extend their learning by participating in a language immersion experience in Tahiti (this is dependent on student numbers), or by applying for an exchange to France.

Topics will be selected from:
* Franco-New Zealand connections - early explorers, Akaroa, Le Quesnoy
* Environmental issues and sustainability
* Stereotypes - immigration, integration, different views of Paris
* Explorations of Regions in France
* The Creative Arts - literature, film, poetry

Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
