Level 3 Health
In Level 3 Health Education, students explore influences on their well-being, attitudes and values, and work towards promoting the health of their community. Students can participate in a range of tasks, including considering ways to keep themselves safe in different situations and learning effective methods to communicate to help develop healthy relationships. Issues related to ethics and health philosophies are explored, which develops critical thinking skills.
Topics Covered
The NCEA Level 3 Health course provides learning experiences that promote an understanding of health issues in New Zealand and around the world, including ethical issues, exploring Traditional Medicine vs Western Medicine, New Zealand health issues (Drugs) and International Health Issues (Disease and Poverty).
Subject Costs
$20 for guest speakers (acupuncture, naturopath etc)

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
Total Credits Available: 19 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 5 credits.
